Section 137 expenditure limit for 2020-21

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) have notified NALC of the appropriate sum for Section 137(4)(a) of the Local Government Act 1972 (the 1972 Act) for Parish, Town and Community Councils for 2020-21.

Consultation: Strengthening police powers to tackle unauthorised encampments

The Home Office has issued a new consultation on strengthening police powers to tackle unauthorised encampments. The consultation covers criminalising the act of trespassing, broadening the existing categories of criminal trespass and broadening police powers to deal with trespassers.
